Again, I refer interested readers (both of them) to original sources. One
of my sources for Windows is many hours spent tracing unwillingly through
Windows kernel code (starting with Windows 2.0), but books -- both Andrew
Schulman's and others -- will provide the same information. Apple
publishes much of their operating system internals information on the
Web; see <http://www.devworld.apple.com> for a starting point.

I have no wish to engage in a micturation contest on-line, particularly
not when I'm up against a master of the art. I concede; I resign; I
hereby throw in (or in this case, pick up) the towel.
