Hi Davis,

Let me follow up on Donna Garverick's answer and mention that we also did
some experiments with txt2pdf.

One of our goals was/is to produce pdf-files from MPE/iX spoolfiles. While
the project has been stalled for quite some time now, we ended out with a
possible solution like this:

First we grabbed a spoolfile and converted the "0"s and "1"s to regular CRs
and LFs. This can be done quite easily by any convenient language you may
have on-hand.

Next we applied txt2pdfPRO - since only the PRO version handles CRs and
LFs the way we wish.

This gave us a nice pdf-file quite as we wanted.

While some fine-tuning of our approach is still needed, I was really
astonished with the service and support of the Sanface people. They have
been most helpful and willing to go very far to help us get the solution we
wanted.

Since the product is written in Perl, you must install this language on your
3000, but until Perl becomes bundled with the OS, Mark Bixby has made
this a plain vanilla process.

Sanface also has another product called data2pdf, that might suite your
purposes. We found this a powerful interface or scripting language if you
wish - to pdf-coding. The idea is that you design the pdf-page yourself -
without having to get a bachelor degree in Adobe's pdf-language. ;-)

We also got lots af help and support from Sanface on this.

/With kind regards Hans-Ole Kaae
