Hello Everyone,

I'm planning to install Reflection on my home PC in order to connect to the
NT server and HP3000 at work. I'll be dialing in, using a 33.3 kbps modem.
I've got a cable modem connected to the same PC, and I'm concerned that
someone may be able to hack the computers at work via my cable modem
connection.

I've talked to my cable modem provider, @Home, and the tech suggested that I
turn off file and printer sharing...been there, done that. Even so, he
said there is no way to insure that someone couldn't hack away. The tech
also suggested that third-party firewall software might be available, but he
was not able to give me any product information. In other words, @Home can
not provide me with a solution.

Turning off or disconnecting the cable modem while I dial into work won't
work either. First of all, I won't remember to do it, period. Secondly, I
have a second computer networked to the PC in question; the other computer
can access the Internet via Wingate and the cable modem and turning off the
cable modem could interrupt an Internet connection.

So I'm still searching. Is there a way for me to dial into work without
compromising our computers and data? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
