This was a strange one.  It was a Speedware program that was trying to
"create" a file.  The file already existed and was full.  I don't know why I
got this message instead of an "end of file" error.  In fact, I have never
seen this message in 17 years of using HP3000's!  Evidently the
Response Center engineer I talked to hadn't either.  The problem is solved,
but I'm still curious/concerned about this.

No, we don't have Threshold Manager.

What are you doing when the message appears??
Are you in TURBOstore using a labeled tape per chance??

Do a DSTAT all to check your discs.

Do you have threshhold manager on your system??

try thmgr as manager.sys and do a Help and a SHow.
