Hello all.
I'm trying to use view's repeat/append options but view has the irratating habit of clearing part or all of the frozen screen(s) when it decides to make room for the appended screen.
I need
(1) a way of telling view not to auto-clear the frozen forms (I want to take control)
(2) or a way of telling view to only start clearing after, say, 200 lines have been displayed.
PS I have a very out-of-date view manual.
PPS I know that view can display individual forms of more than 24 lines.
Here's the background to this query.
We have programs that collect the users' request in a view form, but then drop out of view and into conversational mode to display the results ! I am looking at changing the front end to use either Web server technology or possibly just Frontman or similar products. Since Frontman only intercepts view intrinsic calls, then the conversational part of the program would go into a "black-hole". So my current thinking is why not redirect STDLIST/STDIN to workfiles and then display the content of these files within a view environment.
Maybe someone can suggest another solution which would achieve the same results - for example has anyone tried to include the STDLIST as supplemetary HTML ? .
Many thanks all.
