I have been given the task of seeing if there is anybody out there
with the expertise (that we can afford) to do our shop floor automation
project. The basic scenario is like this:
1) All data resides on an HP3000
2) We want to put terminals/PC's and bar code printers at each
production line.
3) We will display each line's schedules on the terminal/PC for the
operator to see and allow the operator to inquire about such things
as production specs, special tooling, product and/or customer
specific data for the order, etc.
4) We want to capture labor rate data as each container (drum/reel)
is completed, update the production schedule, and print appropriate
bar code labels for each container.
5) We want to interface to PLC's that control the production lines
and either send them data about how they should be set or read from
them data relative to production specs and (especially) out-of-spec
problems.
For complete information, please contact me directly. Thanks.
