longer DB backups on O/S 6.5

We recently upgraded our operating system from 5.5 to 6.5 PP2 on a 987.
Since this upgrade we have noticed about a 25% increase in the length of
time our database backup runs.  We are using Turbostore and backing up
to a DLT.  Has anyone else experienced this problem?
