It's my understanding that the current US Administration has done a
brilliant job of turning a small budget surplus into a huge deficit. If that
was their original intent, they were migthty successfull at it. Come next
fall, what is likely voters' opinion when it comes to renew America, Inc.'s
CEO, his staff managers, part of the Board (read : Senators), and personnel
representatives (read : House) ?

If I were asked to renew a BoD or CEO, I would most likely base my opinion,
at least in a large part, on the financial performance of the incumbents.
Let's assume the current state of the economy did not help. But was it
necessary to spend US$1 billion/week (or more, still counting ...) on a
perhaps baseless (see the other thread about possible bureaucratic
discrepancies in WMD accounting) war in Iraq ?
