Chris,
           I do not have any C code to share;    we do not have a C
compiler.
However, have you tried to compile and/or use Cobol under the Posix
shell?     If Cobol is not to your liking, do you have a Pascal compiler
on your system?     Or the Transact XL compiler?      Remember, please,
Image (or TurboImage, as it is now called) is rather dependent on the
MPE file paradigm and the only suggestion that I have is to use a
language that can accommodate that paradigm.
