RE:    HPWORLD Item #7 on the Interex 2003 MPE System Improvement Ballot
FROM:  SIG MPE meeting 8/13.

This is an update on the SIB Item #7 - Verify FTP/iX for > 8GB files ...


FTP Patches are now available to support >4Gb file transfer from MPE to
 non-MPE systems.  These "beta" patches also include other previously
 customer tested FTP fixes.

Primary SR's fixed:

  SR: 8606-293906
FTP NT&UNIX - 501 Client is not Compatible to Create Large File.

  SR: 8606-294908
FTP PUT fails to MPE with BUILDPARMS ;REC=#;DISC=# >4Gb

You can order these beta test patches at the HP response center:

FTPHD42 for C.65.00
FTPHD43 for C.70.00
FTPHD44 for C.75.00

These patches have been tested to 20Gb "PUT and GET" to HP-UX 11.0.

Site Specific FTP Patches are also now available to support >4Gb file
 transfer from MPE to non-MPE systems with performance improvements &
 fixes to support >=40Gb file transfers.

FTPHD48 for C.75.00

These patches have passed preliminary lab testing of "PUT" >40Gb and
 currently are under test to verify "PUT and GET" operation up to 80Gb.

Note:  We are continuing the investigation of FTP Performance above 4Gb
 and further improvements may come in the near future.
