ftp is always a curious thing, imo -- because how it's implemented by other
vendors is probably not how it was implemented by your vendor.
i've run into a similar problem in ftp when *all* that i say is 'put myfile' --
and especially 'put /mydir/myfile' (no destination is provided). if the
receiving systems ftp wants to put /mydir/myfile into /mydir -- you (via your
logon) may not have write access into /mydir or there may be artificial
restrictions being imposed by ftp on /mydir's behalf.
you might try doing a 'put /mydir/myfile ./myfile' -- that is drop myfile off
into the directory that's home to your foreign/nt logon.
i'd ask which version of ftp you're using...but it's probably a moot point
since you're on 6.0. - d
