Is there a way to test whether a DEVCTRL command was successful?  Right now
my particular interestest is ensuring that the LOAD=ONLINE worked.  But I'd
like to see other stuff as well if it's available!  During my testing I
noted that the CI variable PARM_VAL was being set but I don't have a clue
what the values mean and could not find any references to them in the
manuals.
