We have a customer who is on MPE 6.5, PP4 and ever since installing
power patch 4, it takes a long time to get to a SHUT 6.
:RUN RUNPSMON.PRED.SYS;XL='XL.PRED.SYS,DIAGXL.PRED.SYS';PARM=-65
:STMSHUT.DIAG.SYS
:NSCONTROL STOP
:NETCONTROL STOP;NET=LAN1
:NETCONTROL STOP;NET=LOOP
:NETCONTROL STOP
Everytime they shut down the system,
it hangs after the shut 4 and then they get
the system pin number 22 timed out 5 minutes after the shut 4, then they
finally get part of the shut 5 message, then the shut 6 message.
I believe that part of the problem (if not all of it), is that STM is
not shutting down. If they do a SHOWPROC right before the shutdown
(after all of the above commands have been issued) there are still
STM processes running:
C152* 1:39.733 WAIT 54 (/usr/sbin/stm/uut/bin/sys/diagmond)
C152 5:19.231 WAIT 401 (/usr/sbin/stm/uut/bin/sys/diaglogd)
C152 0:08.171 WAIT 411 (/usr/sbin/stm/uut/bin/sys/memlogd)
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thank you,
Barry
