Actually, I would think that, save for one reason, OpenVMS could be
attractive, in the context described. MPEers ought to be able to respect the
"open proprietary" approach, and respect the simplicity and robustness that
OVMS is reputed to have.
As for the uneasy feeling of putting your system's future in hp's hands, I
imagine having former MPE's watching their handling of OVMS might give hp
reason to tread lightly.
