We recently received 20 of the C2490WD drives. One of the 20 was dead
on arrival. Is this typical? Is 5 to 10 percent failure rate now
acceptable for HP disc drives?  We have ordered 40 more of these drives;
should we expect 2 or more DOA's?

One key fact that cannot be answered is whether the drives were working
fine when they left the plant but were damaged in shipment. But since
HP is using such wide distribution channels these days, I would expect
they would pack them for severe conditions.
