Thank you both. The problem arose because we are switching to Charon (despite
my early skepticism that such a thing would ever appear). We have a system
LOGON UDC name LOGON which sets all sorts of things, including HPPATH. Well,
Stromasys provides their own LOGON UDC, also named LOGON.
Sooo, one clobbered the other, or rather one has precedence in the catalog.
Our LOGON UDC never executed so HPPATH was never set up as expected. And, as
this was set up originally sometime around 1988 and since it runs invisibly I
had absolutely no recollection whatsoever of this UDC.
Mystery solved.
