(BTW, I misread your 959 as 9x8 or something :)

The 959 is documented as having a lithium battery that is not FRU (Field Replaceable Unit) ...
an incredibly bad design decision.

Some HP 3000 / HP 9000 models have a Dallas Semiconductor Real-Time Clock module
with an integrated lithium battery (DS1287 in some cases).  These are not removable, but there are replacement
parts for available
