If you did this over the past weekend all I can say is it must be the
weekend.  I had the same issues with a DDS3 autoloader.  I was in the
middle of transfering an account from one volume set to another.  I was
able to do the store without a problem but when I tried restoring I got
the same error.  I checked outside and it wasn't a full moon either.
Did you look at your $stdlist ?  I had an enormous amount of read errors
before I got the scarey message.  It could be a bad tape, I'm doing
further testing this week.  Thank goodness I have two autoloaders!!
