>Has anyone heard about HP extending support on the HP3000 9x7 series through 11/30/2003? Someone at my company has heard this and is

It has long been the case that individual HP field offices can extend service coverage on an exception basis. This activity even dates back before the series 70 days. However, I would be very careful to get a separate letter from an HP area service manager above the field office level. This letter should describe the exception that is being made, specifically lists the individual items, the location of the spare parts, and the type of response coverage (4hr,next day,...) to be provided.

The inventory of these officially excluded parts is usually a side item or 'back door' kind of a thing. I can recall several times when the local HP office called us looking for 7937s, or power supplies for systems that they had extended the above type of coverage.

I would strongly recommend looking at any of the fine companies that provide hardware services for these systems. Their entire businesses are
%100 focused on providing hardware service, usually at significant cost savings over HP. (www.triolet.com/HPVend/hpvend50.html#$HRDMTC)

Beechglen's Commitment: Beechglen will continue to provide software phone in support the HP3000 for as long as our customers care to run on this phenomenal platform. In fact, we have several customers still running Classic MPE/V on Micros and Series 52s! These systems have one of the best business qualities, they are bought and paid for! </plug>
