I recently had a chance to speak to one of the Marketing VPs of COGNOS. When
I asked him why this particular user group was made up of only their PC
based product users one of his colleagues replied, "Because they are
biggest installed base."
The VP was quick (no pun intended) to say something to the effect of "That
doesn't mean that we want to dismiss a group that accounts for a hundred
million dollars in sales."

For once Cognos seems to be more progressive (or a least, less regressive)
than HP.
