Let me toss third solution in list in addition to Jim's excellent options.

Our new N-class sets on our network, and we use NSVT. The only thing we use
the DTC for is our three high speed line printers.

A consultant from Pivotal Solutions (not a plug...just an fyi), advised us
to connect the server and DTC directly to the network.

Then bridge the two ports on the Cisco router that the DTC and server were
on using AFCP protocol. That was a bit tricky for our CISCO guru.

Had to pull the thin LAN ether net port and cap it with the proper
terminator, then attach a media convert and use a standard RJ45 cat 6 cable.

As a result, the NSVT link is 100mb, but the DTC is only 10mb.

We went from a 987/200 to an N4000-100-380 and went live on July 12th.

We are very happy with the performance!

Take care, and good luck!

mc

Subject: [HP3000-L] DTC's on N-Class

Friday afternoon question.

Since the N-class only comes with a 100MB NIC, how do I configure the LAN
and
the DTS link to use the same path?

Happy Friday,

-Craig
