While I agree that the FREEWARE tape does not exactly match the
SIGPOS/iX charter and that not everything on the tape was POSIX/iX
related (especially the DEMOS account, I guess)...

... the main driving force of the tape originates in the freeware idea

... the tape is available to Interex members as well as non-members

... the DEMOS account is a nice ADD-ON that can be RESTORE'd at will

So I really like the concept and implementation of the Freeware Tape,
including the Demos account (there is enough space on the tape for
both accounts, Freeware and Demos). Even with the non-Posix items it
seems to me that SIGPOS/iX is the "closest match".

By the way, notice that the 1997 IPROF tape was not put together by
SIGPOS/iX but mainly by Michael Hensley (and all the contributors).

The idea to also encourage other SIGs to pick up the idea and select
appropriate contributions sounds excellent to me! Just imagine if
SIGIMAGE and SIGALLBASE had managed to get trials of the available
32-bit ODBC drivers on that tape...
