Which is exactly why the attacks on Tuesday were successful:
unwillingness to accept the added expense and effort of better security.
Like I said earlier, "Yes, those measures will be expensive, and
complying with them will be inconvenient; I am convinced that the
thousands of people buried under what were WTC 1 and 2 would have been
quite willing to pay for a little inconvenience." I'm guessing that
whatever new tolerance/benefit level we see will be a bit more secure
than the one that existed on Monday, but the long-term sustained level
will still be full of holes.
