What version of DCE/3000 will be shipping with MPE/iX 6.0 ?
Currently HP only offers version A.01.12 which is based on OSF DCE 1.0.2.
Most other platforms (including HP-UX) are at least on a version of DCE
which
is OSF DCE 1.1 compliant with all the extra features that this includes.
The older
version which is currently the only offering on the HP3000, means that any
use
of DCE which encompasses an HP3000 must be programmed at the simplest
version
level which provides severe limitations. I would like to hear that HP are
going to offer
a version of DCE with 6.0 which is at least compliant with OSF DCE 1.1.
