Of course, unless the species of bird and bug are specified, the
emotional state of the bird cannot be determined with any certainty.
There are many such situations where the bugs would be much happier than
the bird.
So "happy as a bird in a bucket of bugs" could find useful service as one
of those insults that gives the insulting party a good head start.
