Greetings to the -L,
Environment: MPE/iX 6.5 PP3, Reflection 8 and Minisoft MS92 Terminal
Emulators
I have a script that needs to know which of the following ways it has
been executed:
1) 'local' session
2) 'local' job
3) 'remote' session
4) 'remote' job
Options 1 and 2 are easy, just check the value of HPJOBTYPE for 'J' or
'S'.
Options 3 and 4 are more difficult as HPJOBTYPE will always be 'S'.
I've noticed that HPVT_CLIENT_JOB_NUM is blank if the job/session is
local OR the identity of the 'remote' job/session (e.g. #S123 or #J456).
Can this be relied on OR is there a better/safer way to do this?
regards,
