It's important to note that not all terminal emulators are created equal.
Reflection will not display nulls and dels. They do that because some time ago,
and for some unknown reason, HP stopped displaying those two characters in
their real terminals. Reflection's design is intended to be a very faithful
HP700/92 emulator.

Nonetheless, fidelity isn't all that it's cracked up to be. I always thought
that dropping these characters was a fundamental mistake and was extremely
misleading to someone who wasn't aware that the terminals were doing this, thus
when it came time to write our own terminal emulator, this was one of the first
behaviors we changed. QCTerm faithfully displays all characters transmitted
from the host to the client, making it a much more useful debugging too.
