regarding the box you're trying to tracert to....is it another 3000?  or
something else?

i seems to me (there i go trying to remember again :-) -- that for one 3000 to
answer another 3000 via tracert, tracert had to be one both systems.  of
course, that was awhile ago....and maybe fixed by now.           - d
