Should I download M$ofts Security Update

I keep getting notified by my Windows PC that I should
download the Critical Updates Package.  However when
I run the M$ check routine it only says I need:

Q320920: Security Update (Windows Media Player 7.1) 

However I don't have nor want Windows Media Player 7.1, 
I'm afraid it will foist it upon my machine.

Is this fear valid?
