Ideal Computer Services has supported the HP3000 for many years
and uses our own "Vision" software for "predictive" support.
Ideal partners with Allegro Consultants to provide software support.
You could try software support with us on a limited call basis to
analyze your need. This costs less than an unlimited contract.

I think some level of s/w support is of value for resolving system issues, dump reading, log analysis, etc. I would agree that most 3000 environments are pretty stable at this point and as long as there's a knowledgeable MPE person on staff that can deal with the day to day sys admin functions, an account SE may be overkill.
