:SETCOUNTER OUTSP;BASE=1
This will reset the counter to 1. You can make this automatic by using the
MAX parameter of the SETCOUNTER command to set a maximum value for spool
file IDs, after which it will cycle back to 1. It also works for job
numbers. Use HELP to get more information.

Subject: Renumber Spoolfiles
Our tech support is on extended leave and we want to start the
spoolnumbers over - they're at 190,980 currently and we're all getting
tired of having to type in a six byte number to access them.
Can anyone tell us how to do this?
Thanks,
