Hi folks:

Just a brief announcement about MPE/iX patches at the new "IT Resource
Center" (http://ITresourcecenter.hp.com). With this latest roll, we've made
the following improvements for MPE/iX users:

 - Changed our patch packaging process to use the STORE-to-disk (STD)
functionality of MPE's STORE/RESTORE subsystem in place of the MOVER
utility.

 - Simplified the instructions for downloading and unpacking patches. Note
that two "download" options are supported: 1) a PC/Unix download from the
web browser and 2) anonymous ftp access directly from your HP3000.

 - Provided simple instructions for using Patch/iX to install a patch that
has been downloaded.

 - Provided easy access to the current version of Patch/iX - including
instructions on how to download and install the latest version of this tool
set.

All this is available from the standard MPE/iX "Patch Database Searching and
Browsing" page at the IT Resource center: from the main page, go to
"Individual Patches", log in, then select "MPE/iX Patches."

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please keep in mind that you MUST download and use the new
UNPACKP script to unpack any current MPE/iX patches from this site. I also
encourage perusing the new patch download instructions.

Questions? Comments? Feel free to post or e-mail me directly.
