I've re-read all the messages on this topic, and haven't see anyone mention
the fact that (on 6.0) the spoolfile for the JINETD job contains connection
information when logging is turned on.  In my spoolfile I have ALL
FTP/TELNET connections (with IP) as well as any "Access denied" attempts.

Though the spoolfile isn't a "log" file, you can determine who connected at
a certain time by using the information in the spoolfile (unfortunately,
there is no corresponding "disconnection" message).
