I have 2 command files, one to print to a file the first record in each file of a set of files (print !fileset; start=1;end=1), and the other to do the same for the last record in each file of a set of files (print !fileset; start=-1).

What I want to do is to combine these two functions into one command file so that I can PRINT the first AND last records of each file in a fileset to a back-referenced file.

Is this even possible with the PRINT command?
