HELLO,

My name is Roxana Colta and i am a HP administrator at sc UTB sa, Romania,
Brasov. I have installed a ODBC/32 server on a A400 sistem with MPE/IX7.0
and i use ODBC for tests, to have access to databases TurboImage.

I have installed client ODBC/32 on PC. I have used for tests a Turbo Image
database from Minisoft (MSCARD.MM.MINISOFT). For test i used Excel. I
started the proces server ODBCSRV (stream MSJOB.MM.MINISOFT), i opened
Excel and i followed the steps indicated in the user manual:
When Excel opens, click Data on the menu bar, click Get
External Data, then Create New Query.
The Choose Data Source dialog box will apear. Click mscard*
from the Database tab, then OK.
Choose available tables and columns to add to your query,
click right arrow to add, click Next.
            Filter Data ......... Next.
            Sort Order ......... Next.
Under What Would You Like To Do Next, click Return Data to
Microsoft Excel, click Finish.
Under Where Do You Want To Put Data, click Existing Worksheet,
then clickOK.
Microsoft Excel - Notebook will appear with your query
information.

I noticed during the transfer server-client proceeding, the procesor
degree has grown up to 60%, after the transfer end, the procesor froze to
30%. i didn't stop the job and i ve tried a new transfer with another
database (of mine) with a small number of records. The procesor degree has
grown up to 90% and blocked the sistem.
I stopped this just forcing the end with abortjob MSJOB. During tests, 70
sesions were opened and also a few jobs.

At A400 sistem the users are connected from HP terminals and PC-s with
TCP/IP protocols.

Why is happening this? What would happen if more users would work at the
same time with ODBC?

Best Regards,

ing ROXANA COLTA
