From all of the reports that we're getting, telnet is putting any substantial
load on any HP3000 that we've seen. Indeed, it's presence seems to be almost
unmeasurable. It's more than likely something else is the problem. James
Hoffmeister in his posting of just a few days ago was a great deal more
reserved about telnet's performance than I would have been, but he did say:
"Note: The feedback I have heard from the folks out here on the 3000-l news
group is that Telnet performance is great."

Is the user running a telnet card in a DTC or is he running host-based
telnet? We've certainly had no performance problems at all with host-based.

Believe it or not, there are now three free terminal emulators for the
HP3000: QCTerm, ScreenJet, and Zebra. QCTerm is at:
