It is steadily becoming apparent even to an MPE faithful person like
myself ( 18+ years using MPE from the HP 3000 Series I to HP 3000
957) that HP upper management has become thoroughly mesmerized
by that vile thing known as unix and that the marketing droids in
command are simply hoping that the MPE faithful will either 'wise up'
and convert over to unix or that the MPE faithful will take their
business to some other vendor. The LAN specialists on this campus
are lobbying loud for a total conversion to Windows NT and I will not
be surprised if the HP 3000 and 9000 boxes are pitched in favor of
several P6 boxes. Even IBM treats its 370 dependent customers
better than this!
