Good afternoon everyone,

A few questions about specifications and requirements of a replacement HP-e3000. Currently we are leasing a HP3000/979 ks100 two NIC's and a 21 GB filesystem with a 160 user lic. Our lease is up soon, and we most likely want an upgrade in processing though-put. I personally don't want to lease, I prefer over-buying a little short of the cutting edge (less $$$), with a 5 to 10 year life expectancy. The HP3000 is one of the few platforms that this type of life expectancy can be achieved. So I thought about a 9x9 ks400 with a 40GB filesystem. I know I want the maximum 8GB of RAM because I want to run 6.5, but I have lots of questions, I'll ask one or two at a time:

1. I have heard of some race conditions that exist in M.P.E., that cause "System Aborts" when using faster High-End processors, what version of the OS is this in? What processor config is it? and is it fixed yet?

2. Any pros/cons related to the PA-8000 vs PA-8200, any recommendations?
