I am also faced with this tiresome problem.
I use MPEX's %listf databasename,db on all except the dreaded Jumbo
Sets.(I've asked for a fix)
The DBMGR tool from Disc doesn't work, and anyway, it wants exclusive
access.
Adager works just fine:-

I also wrote a PowerHouse Quick screen that allows me to see the limits,
current capacities, %age full and rate of change over time of any
database, with my most used pre loaded into function keys.
This is about 300 lines long and needs (probably doesn't really anymore)
a file with some redefined fields in it to help with conversions from
Int and Dword to display.

I'll happily e-mail this to anyone who cares.
