Hi All
Hope You will bare over with a newbie (both to this list and to MPE), but
I'm stuck with a problem:
I have some applications that via the answers to some menu- and
input-fields, auto-builds and streams some jobs for me.
The jobs have to be executed in a sequential manner and there is only a
single parameter or two that differentiates each of the jobs.
The jobs are to be run at a regular basis (most of them daily / monthly) and
it is tedious to maneuver menus answering the same single question,
submitting and then waiting for the job to be completed, over and over and
over again.
I figure it should be possible to submit a job at a priority so it will
start in suspended mode and then "snatch" the "job-definition" (job-card or
what its called?) and use it as a template to create all the jobs needed to
complete a full run.
But how do I "snatch" the jobdata that the defines the full job?
I have considered using priorities and a controlling stream to serialize the
jobs, but with often more than 30 jobs to be serialized, its not simple and
it don't address the tedious task of entering the same data over and over
again.
Does anybody have an idea or perhaps a hint about where I could find some
info?
Thanks in advance
