Thank you for the response.  

Here is a case of trying everything else and not looking at the
jetdirect config itself (we kept looking at the printer's config and
npconfig).  The default idle timeout on tcpip from HP was set to 270
seconds...we have have changed it to 0 and amazingly enough, everything
just keeps on printing...  

And now our Finance Dept is happy...again...for a little while at least
:)
