Just this week we had a presentation from Forte'. It looks to be a very
impressive product in terms of capabilities. But:

- it does not support MPE/iX and they don't have any plans to in the future.

- ODBC driver support is still in beta test. They currently support Oracle,
Sybase, RDB with native drivers.

- the starter kit costs $75,000 for 5 developer licenses, 10 runtime licenses,
one server license, one database driver, and training. For a 50+ user
environment with multiple databases and servers, expect to spend at least
$250,000.

Having said all that, we are still interested. There are capabilities claimed
for Forte' that other client/server vendors haven't even thought about.
