You need to be a little more specific. There are several Kingston Data Silos.
Which one are you using? You also didn't say to what system you wanted to
connect this equipment. I suspect you mean to connect to an HP 3000 and if so,
it would be useful to know what you version of MPE you are on.

I suspect you may be using the Data Silo DS100. Is this correct?
The DS100 supports Fast SCSI-2 (Narrow), SCSI Wide and Wide Ultra and SCSI Wide
Ultra2 and Ultra160. What kind are you using?

Now the IBM DNES-318350 is an 18.3 GB disc drive with either Ultra SCSI or
Ultra2 SCSI LVD interface. It also supports Fibre Channel. Unfortunately the
HP 3000 does not have an LVD (Low Voltage Differential) interface, so that one
is out. If the connector has 68 Pins, then you have an Ultra SCSI wide device,
in this case, the Ultra SCSI interface is going to require a F/W interface on
the HP 3000, but of the SE persuasion. So that won't work either. What you
might do is get a 68 PIN to 50 PIN cable with high-bit termination and connect
the drive, after you placed it inside the Data Silo, to the HP 3000 SE
connector. That would be a shame as the drive is very fast and will lose most
of its performance attached this way. You could get a converter from 68 Pin SE
to 68 Pin Differential from Paralan. That way you could connect this fast
drive to a FWSCSI chain on the HP 3000.

If on the other hand, your drive has a 50 pin connector, then you have an Ultra
SCSI device, but still SE. You can attach that drive directly to the SE SCSI
chain on the HP 3000.

If you have more questions, ask away.

Kind regards,

Denys. . .
