sorry for no OT: prefix - I wanted the techies to see the question ;-)
Does anyone have a link to a searchable vi (editor) reference?
Here's what I want to do, described using Qedit commands:
c30/30\"\@;c1\longstringplus"\@
(which changes column 30 to a " in every line of the file, and inserts
longstringplus" at column 1 in every line of the file).
My only vi reference is OReilly's vi pocket ref.
the (space-delimited) sequence <return>30|r" does part 1 one time, so I
tried
:map z ^M30|r"
so I could invoke the series via "z". it tries to work but does something
wrong trying to use a filename grr.
So, does anybody have a link to a good searchable vi reference, please?
Thanks in advance,
Tracy Pierce
