Donna:

Get a copy of Michael Hensley's "Plug and Play POSIX"
(www.allegro.com/papers/pnpposix.txt). Follow especially the tip from
Lars Appel and you should be in business. Solved all my problems.

Subject: more shell joy (not)

yup - it's monday...

there must be another shell configuration that i'm
missing. if a non-pm person tries to do 'man....'
inside the shell they get told:
shell/iX> man tobyte
man: more -A -s: Package not installed
shell/iX>

this is how hpbin is set-up (appears to be standard):
GROUP: HPBIN.SYS

DISC SPACE: 99296(SECTORS) PASSWORD: **
CPU TIME : 0(SECONDS) SECURITY--READ : ANY
CONNECT TIME: 0(MINUTES) WRITE :
DISC LIMIT: UNLIMITED APPEND :
CPU LIMIT : UNLIMITED LOCK :
CONNECT LIMIT: UNLIMITED EXECUTE : ANY
PRIV VOL : NO SAVE :
FILE UFID: $055F0001 $2F8B2314 $001026BE $5F030845 $029ACD3B
MOUNT REF CNT: n/a
HOME VOL SET : MPEXL_SYSTEM_VOLUME_SET
CAP: BA,IA,PM,MR,DS,PH

we'll not even discuss *why* write, append, etc have *no*
access defined (shouldn't it at least be 'gu'?), nor will we
discuss *why* the permissions for /bin are 777 <sigh>

so, does someone know how to fix this? - d
