Just for the grins...

I've just finished teaching a 2-days hands on Java,Apache,MPEiX
workshop to a couple of German/Austrian/Swiss customers. I had one
participant, who was surprised to see Samba, Apache, Java and JDBC
in use on a 3000. While we discussed CGI and did a few small script
examples, he asked about Perl and was delighted to learn that it
does exist on MPE/iX too (because he already used it on other web
platforms). Funny enough, he even noticed that our workshop system
did have Perl installed (it was an older version and I had totally
forgotten about it) and used it during the labs.

For what it's worth :-)

Lars.

PS... Regarding the "support" question... I wonder if Perl support
would have to come from HP or could also come from an interested 3rd
party (similar to the commercial GNU gcc support)... One of the nice
aspects of Open Source seems to be that you are not tied to a single
vendor...
