RE: [HP3000-L] Strange error after restore...Jennifer,

No problem. That's what the list is for. Glad I could help.

Reply to the list with your results, so the resolution is in the archives.

Thanks,
Rs~

Wow! I'm impressed! HP didn't even know why. I see exactly what you
mean when I look in volutil. My SHOWSET says 36 drives. I only have 31
configured. I will rebuild the volumeset tomorrow and let you know how it
turns out. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Sorry it took so long to respond. I was at a client site all afternoon.

    This is a bit fuzzy....

    - Use DSTAT ALL to get the names of each of your user volumesets
    - Go into VOLUTIL
-- for each user volume type SHOWSET <setname>
    - Compare the response to the devices listed in the DSTAT ALL
-- are any devices listed in the SHOWSET that are not on the
DSTAT ALL?

If you need more information, I'd like to see the output from these
    commands.

    Rs~

    Hi Russ!

I did as you suggested, comparing DSTAT ALL and SHOWDEV DISC and all the
drives match up and are allocated for. Should I be looking for
something
    else?

I also should have mentioned that I am on MPE/iX 6.5 with express
release 2.
