If you adopt that position, that of a supplicant at the feet of HP, you've
lost before you have begun.

That's not quite true. I've said before, and I'll say again now, I lay claim
to owning b-trees in IMAGE and advanced telnet for MPE, as well as substantial
part ownership regarding critical item update capabilities in IMAGE. Other
users, whose names are well-known, can equally claim other parts of MPE. Those
items, and all of the work encompassing them, were freely given to HP for the
common good of the community, at a time when that community consisted of both
the users and CSY.
