While RESTOREing files after an INSTALL on my 917'LX, I noticed the
following warning/information messages:
"/SYS/hpstage/ COULD NOT BE RESTRICTED TO THE SYSTEM MASTER VOLUME"
"/SYS/hpstage/base_archive/ COULD NOT BE RESTRICTED TO THE SYS...."
The RESTORE command was:
":RESTORE ;/;DIRECTORY;COPYACD;KEEP;OLDDATE "
The purpose of the INSTALL was to replace a single C3010A system
disc (LDEV1) with two C2490A discs (LDEV1 and LDEV2). All discs
are in the MPEXL_SYSTEM_VOLUME_SET. Other than the 2 warnings,
the rest of the "reload" was uneventful and things seem to be
fine. The directories that were flagged are indeed there, with
"/SYS/hpstage/" on LDEV1 and /SYS/hpstage/base_archive/ on LDEV2.
One file was RESTOREd under "/hpstage/" as /SYS/hpstage/current_log.
This file seems to have some patch history from several old patch
installations. Before the disc switching and INSTALL was done, I
had just performed the 5.5 powerpatch update (C.55.01) with no
apparant problems.
I'm guessing that this indicates a problem with the new PATCH/iX
subsystem, but don't know if this portends trouble with the next
patch installation--or if it might be simply an annoying message
to be ignored and forgotten. Any ideas out there ???
