<<We are getting a 2GB DDS DAT drive (# C2478SZ) or an upgraded 2-8GB
(upgrade from standard C2477SZ) and I have the following questions:

1. What is the part number for the corresponding tape media?>>

HP's part #s are
 Box of 5 60m DDS cartridges HP92283A
 Box of 5 90m DDS cartridges HP92283B
 Box of 5 120m DDS2 cartridges HP92300A

Note that DDS2 media can not be used in DDS drives. But DDS2 drives can
read and write DDS media.

<<2. Are there any non HP sources for comparable media? any comments?>>

DDS is DDS; any reputable product should work fine. However, DAT is *not*
DDS; make sure your tapes say "DDS" or DDS2".

3. Any recommendations on tape lengths?

90m tapes cost less per foot/MB than 60m tapes.

4. Any recommendations on cleaning cartridges?

Again, whatever meets the spec should work fine. HP's box of 2 cleaning
tapes is HP92283K.
